Along with the SRAM PSA 7 continuing, there are two events on European soil on the Challenger Tour this week, with action coming from both France and Norway over the next seven days.
The Challenger 10 level tournament in Malaysia will run through to Tuesday, with the Open International Niort Venise Verte beginning on Monday, and the Capra Baerum starting on Thursday.
Open International Niort Venise Verte
The first event of the week takes place in Niort, France, with the Challenger 10 level Open International Niort Venise Verte being held at Squash du Marais from Monday 8 to Friday 12 November.
The French duo of Benjamin Aubert and Auguste Dussourd lead the way at the top of the draw, with Mazen Gamal as their nearest competitor, with the Egyptian having beaten both en route to the Open Lagord Tennis Squash title on Saturday.
Five other members of the world’s top 100, in England’s Sam Todd and Robert Downer, Scotland’s Rory Stewart, Colombia’s Juan Camilo Vargas and Germany’s Yannik Omlor, will all be in action.
Capra Baerum Open
The Challenger 10 level Capra Baerum Open begins on Thursday, with action taking place at Lysaker Squash & Fitness in Norway in the form of both men’s and women’s draws.
World No.26 Lucy Turmel will be the highest ranked player in the tournament, and she will lead the women’s draw along with compatriot Jasmine Hutton. The Hong Kong quintet of Liu Tsz-Ling, Tze Lok Ho, Tsz-Wing Tong, Ka Yi Lee and Vanessa Chu are joined by Dutch No.2 Tessa ter Sluis as the other seeded players.
Spain’s Bernat Jaume will be the top seed for the men’s event, while Egypt’s Moustafa El Sirty will be the highest ranked male in the draw, following his seventh win of the year on Saturday in Pakistan. Portugal’s Rui Soares and Welshman Emyr Evans will be joined by a Hong Kong trio in the top eight seeds.
