Event top seed and World No.11, Youssef Ibrahim, has been forced to withdraw from the upcoming CIB Zed Squash Open, taking place in under two weeks time due to injury.
Ibrahim has been plagued with an ongoing knee injury that has unfortunately not improved. The talented Egyptian will also miss upcoming Platinum events, the QTerminals Qatar Classic and the CIB Egyptian Open.
Here’s what Ibrahim had to say about his injury:
Compatriot Youssef Soliman now leads the draw as the No.1 seed with Victor Crouin now moving to the No.2 seed for the event. ‘Hammer of Thor’ Omar Mosaad moves to a 3/4 seed position now to join Germany’s Raphael Kandra.
20-year-old Egyptian Yahya Elnawasany has moved to the No.8 seed and now receives a bye in round one. He will face either Syed Azlan Amjad or Henry Leung in the last 16.
England’s World No.77 Joe Lee comes into the draw and will face Portugal’s 9/16 seed Rui Soares in the first round.
The action from the CIB Zed Squash Open will be shown live on SQUASHTV.
