Three players have had to withdraw from the upcoming men’s event at the CIB Squash Open Black Ball, PSA World Tour Gold level tournament which takes place from December 16-20 in Cairo.
Egypt’s Zahed Salem has had to pull out of the tournament due to injury, while compatriot Mohamed Abouelghar tested positive for COVID-19 before entering the tournament bubble, and was therefore withdrawn. Mexico’s Cesar Salazar is the third player to miss out, due to an ongoing illness.
In terms of the updated draw, Egypt’s Karim El Hammamy replaces Cesar Salazar and plays Youssef Ibrahim, while Englishman Declan James replaces Zahed Salem and will play Saurav Ghosal on the opening day.
Mohamed El Sherbini will take the place of Mohamed Abouelghar in the 9/16 seeding bracket and will face England’s James Willstrop, while another Englishman, in Patrick Rooney, replaces Mohamed El Sherbini and will take on Colombia’s Miguel Rodriguez.
